About Competition

With the rapid advancement of AM technologies, the boundaries of design and production are being redefined. 3D printing has evolved beyond rapid prototyping into a powerful tool for fabricating functional parts across diverse fields such as aerospace, biomedical engineering, automotive, energy, electronics, and art. Combining science, engineering, and creativity, this technology enables the production of complex, lightweight, and high-precision structures that were once impossible to manufacture.

The AM2C 3D Printing Competition provides a unique platform for designers, engineers, and researchers worldwide to demonstrate their skills in design optimization and FDM-based additive manufacturing. This scientific, educational, and competitive event aims to enhance technical knowledge, promote creative engineering design, and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry — offering participants a hands-on experience through the full design-to-manufacture process.

Participants from various academic, professional, and industrial backgrounds will have the opportunity to engage with peers worldwide, fostering cross-border and cross-disciplinary innovation. The competition is open to all, regardless of age, education level, or background — welcoming students, researchers, professionals, inventors, and artists who are passionate about 3D printing and innovation.

The key objectives of the competition include:

1- Enhancing understanding of 3D printing technologies and their diverse applications across various industries, including engineering, biomedical, aerospace, automotive, energy, and design.

2- Strengthening participants’ capabilities in 3D modeling and material selection, empowering them to create lightweight, durable, and high-strength components.

3- Encouraging innovation, creativity, and collaborative teamwork in the design and manufacturing process, providing participants with the opportunity to push the boundaries of conventional design solutions.

4- Facilitating an international exchange of knowledge, experience, and ideas, promoting a diverse and collaborative environment where participants can learn from each other and expand their global network.

5- Improving problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical reporting skills, ensuring that participants align with international engineering standards and gain valuable experience in professional technical communication.
